ASME Y14.47 : Model Organization Practices

An annotated model and its associated data elements that define the product in a manner that can be used effectively without a drawing graphic sheet.

Alternate Definitions:

MIL-STD-31000B - The practice of using 3D data sets containing the exact solid representation, associated 3D geometry and 3D annotations of a products dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes and other notes to specify a complete product definition. Also referred to as MBD or Model-Based Definition.(See ASME Y14.41)

MBE Maturity Index - A product definition founded on a 3D model that requires semantic PMI and attributes.

Industry Articles - The authoritative digital-data set based on a 3D geometric model that defines the end-item requirements for a product.
